KIOKIT

KIOKIT

Since 2013 BRCK has been enabling internet access to areas with limited to no infrastructure. In 2015 BRCK came to TEAGUE with the idea to pair their revolutionary V1 radio with a case of wireless tablets creating an all in one solution for education in Kenya, Africa. With an this unparalleled opportunity to make a true difference with design, a small team from TEAGUE and BRCK collaborated over two weeks to produce 6 prototype KioKit 'School in a Box' cases to be deployed immediately in Kenya. Since then, BRCK's KioKit has continued to evolve and grow reaching thousands of children in over 100 locations across 17 countries.

Though not a traditional design project. KioKit was an intense two weeks of design and making marathon to create six fully functional prototype cases. All loaded with tablets, headphones, BRCK core units, and ready to be field tested in Kenya.

As an industrial designer I always hope that my efforts help to make the world a little bit better. With this project I am very proud to have been part of this initial effort and very humbled by the impact and difference BRCK has made with KioKit since.
